Executive in Residence
About the Executive in Residence Program
The Executive in Residence is a pilot program of Calgary Arts Development in response to a need identified at the 2011 Arts Champions Congress for the arts sector to gain access to high-level knowledge and expertise in relevant areas. Expertise to be provided by the Executives in Residence will include: Marketing, Resource Development, Board Governance, Human Resources, Information Technology, Finance, etc. The role is a rotating post and Calgary Arts Development will appooint Executives in Residence on an as-need basis.
Program Parameters
The Executive in Residence will assist in building capacity in the arts sector by serving as a formal adviser and sounding board to Calgary arts organizations and artists. The Executive in Residence will meet with community members via one on one consultation. Preference for consultations will be given to CADA clients (those currently funded and those pre-screened for funding) and individual professional artists. Appointments are limited to 1 per month per organization/individual.
Artists and arts organizations may use a consultation with the Executive in Residence to gather feedback on ideas, initiatives and issues that they seek guidance with. The Executive in Residence is not expected to complete any project or program work for any artists or organizations directly. Rather they are being made available to offer some expertise, insight and a different perspective concerning the matter at hand and perhaps offer some options for how the organization/individual might be able to address it.
The Executive in Residence Program is not currently accepting requests for consultation.
